Content Filtering

Web & DNS Content Filtering

Decide what your office, school or guest WiFi may be used for: block categories of sites, specific sites and apps, and phishing and malware domains - with different rules for staff and guests, managed for you.

Why filter at the network, not on each device

Filtering software on each computer misses phones, guest devices, smart TVs and anything nobody installed it on. Filtering at the router and at DNS covers every device on the network, the moment it connects, with nothing to install and nothing for a user to switch off.

How iberry filters

DNS Hosted Security

Every lookup on your network goes through iberry's filtered DNS. Known phishing and malware domains are refused, and ready-made categories such as adult content and gambling can be switched on. ₹9,000 a year.

No way round it

Devices that try to use their own DNS server are redirected to the filtered one at the router, and common encrypted-DNS services can be blocked, so the filter is not one setting away from being bypassed.

Site and app blocking

Specific sites, or traffic types such as peer-to-peer downloads, blocked on the router - on the staff network only, the guest network only, or both.

Different rules per network

Staff, guests, students and cameras each get their own network and their own rules. A school can filter students strictly and leave the staff room lighter.

Schedules

Rules that apply in working hours, or social media allowed only at lunch, if that is how you want to run it.

Where it matters most

Offices

Keeping work machines away from malware and phishing sites, and bandwidth away from downloads.

Schools and colleges

Keeping students away from adult and gambling sites - often a requirement rather than a choice. See school WiFi.

Hotels, cafés and public WiFi

Limiting what anonymous users can do on a connection that is registered in your name. See WiFi log compliance.

Frequently asked questions

How do I block websites on my office network?

Block them at the router or at DNS, so the rule covers every device rather than one computer at a time. iberry sets up category blocking, specific-site blocking and per-network rules, and stops devices bypassing the filter with their own DNS.

What is DNS filtering?

Every website visit starts with a DNS lookup that turns a name into an address. A filtering DNS refuses to answer for blocked sites - phishing, malware, adult content - so the device never reaches them.

Can guests or students get around the filter?

The usual tricks are a different DNS server or encrypted DNS. iberry redirects DNS at the router and blocks the common encrypted-DNS services. A determined user with a VPN app can still tunnel out; that VPN traffic can be blocked too, if you want it to be.

Does filtering slow the internet down?

No noticeable difference. DNS filtering only affects the lookup, not the download, and router rules run at line speed on properly sized hardware.

How much does it cost?

DNS Hosted Security is ₹9,000 a year. Router-side filtering is part of iberry's firewall plans (from ₹30,000 one-time in India). Outside India, quoted per project.

Want control over what your network is used for?

Tell us who uses the network - staff, guests, students - and what you need blocked. Published firewall plans in India are ₹30,000, ₹50,000 and ₹99,000 one-time, each with ₹15,000 yearly maintenance; DNS Hosted Security is ₹9,000 a year. Outside India every project is quoted on its own, because the hardware is usually bought locally.
